The Otterhead Estate Trust

Area leased to the Otterhead Estate Trust

The Otterhead Lakes site is owned by Wessex Water. The majority of the landholding is leased to the Forestry Commission and to the Otterhead Estate Trust, while Wessex Water retains control of two lakes (Royston & House Lakes), the River Otter which joins the lakes, the associated dam structures and a parcel of land at the south end of the site below the dam. In addition to its primary function as a water source the site also forms part of the headwater of the River Otter. The lines in red show the area managed by the OET.
